Hungarian railways is a state owned company. Recently a silly sausage running ministry for transportation decided it's a great idea to stop people talking about sad state of affairs on Hungarian railways by ... drum roll .. shutting down a public app that was showing trains on the map and their respective delays. It's a sort of 3-year old hide-and-seek logic, when a kid covers their eyes and thinks you can't see them, just because they can't see you, you know? So we decided to create an app that puts the trains back on the map for now!
Vonatkém shows live passenger train positions in Hungary – even when others try to hide them. It uses only publicly available data but presents it clearly, with no nonsense.
When official apps disappear or delay data vanishes, Vonatkém remains. Developed independently by people who think everyone has the right to know when and where their train is – especially if it's late.
No politics. No ads. Just trains on the map. Even the late ones.
